Mr. Romea H. Smith age 81 of Allegre, KY passed away Sunday February 12, 2017 2:04 a.m. at the Grace Health Care in Clarksville, TN of natural causes. Services will be Wednesday February 15, 2017 11:00 a.m. at Latham Funeral Home in Elkton, KY with Rev. Rodney Skipworth and Rev. Derek Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Clifty-Christian Church Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday February 14, 2017 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Latham Funeral Home.
Mr. Smith was born in Todd County August 4, 1935 the son of the late Neal Boyd Smith and Mabel Shanklin Smith. He was retired after 28 years with U.S. Steel in Gary, IN. He was a member of Bellview Baptist Church in Allegre, KY. He is preceded in death by his son Howard Dwayne Smith in 1962.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years Marilyn Brown Smith of Allegre, KY, his son Scott (Helen) Smith of McHenry, IL, his daughter Roma(Keith) Smith Campbell of Allegre, KY, his brother Darrel (Carol) Smith of Clarksville, TN, his sisters Emily (Clark) McIntyre, Brenda (Danny) Boyd both of Allegre, KY and Mary (Mike) Hite of Hopkinsville, KY, three grandchildren Mitch and Lane Smith and Paige Winders.
