Mr. Richard Walton “Dick” Sadler age 89 of Trenton, KY passed away Sunday October 8, 2017 6:00 a.m. at his residence of natural causes. Services will be Wednesday October 11. 2017 11:00 a.m. at Trenton Baptist Church in Trenton, KY with Rev. Dean Anderson and Rev. Chris Short officiating. Burial will follow in the Edgewood Cemetery in Trenton. Visitation will be Tuesday October 10, 2017 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the church and on Wednesday after 10:00 a.m. till the funeral hour. Latham Funeral Home in Elkton, KY is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Sadler was born February 15, 1928 in Trenton, KY the son o the late John Colby Sadler and Ella Bryant Sadler. He was a retired Teacher, and Administrator in the Christian, and Todd County School Systems as well as the Robertson County, TN system. He was also the retired Postmaster of Trenton, KY. Mr. Sadler was a graduate of Austin Peay University with a Bachelors Degree in Education. He was also on the baseball team all 4 years. Mr. Sadler was a lifelong member of the Trenton Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday School Teacher, he was an avid gardener, loved baseball and had coached basketball in some of the school systems. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. Besides his parents he is preceded in death by 5 brothers Louis, Clarence “Skeeter”, J.C. Jr, Malcolm and Bill Sadler, 4 Sisters Pauline Perkins, Douglas Sanders, Lois Sadler and Marjorie Graham.
He is survived by his wife Sylvia Parker Sadler of Trenton, KY, his son Chuck and his wife Amanda Sadler of Trenton, KY, his daughter Lisa Sadler Chester of Clarksville, TN, his sisters Maxine Burge of Clarksville, TN and Jewel Johnston o Ormond Beach, FL, his grandchildren Liz, Colby, Ethan and Lucy Chester, John, Trevor, Shelby and Jenna Sadler, Chandler, Bailey and Gavin Jones.
