Mrs. Jennifer Jo Shumate Blythe, age 53 of Elkton, passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at Christian Height Nursing and Rehab in Pembroke of natural causes. A memorial service will be 3:00 PM Monday, February 19, 2018 at Petrie Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Matt Seel officiating. Jennifer had chosen a cremation service with Latham Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
Jennifer was born March 12, 1964 in Christian Co., KY. She was a member of the Petrie Memorial United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Ralph and Thelma Louise Case Shumate, her sister, Susan Ivy Shumate and her husband, Dennis Blythe.
Survivors include her son, Benjamin Slaughter of Florida, her sister, Amy Martin of Elkton, her grandchildren, Kaleb and Kollin Slaughter of Guthrie and Karter Slaughter of Florida; her nephews, Clifton Martin of Lexington and Chris Martin and his wife Tiffany of Allensville; her great nephew, Isaac Martin and great niece, Lilly Martin; and a special cousin, Sharon Carver of Elkton.
