Mr. Edward Irving Kacer age 96 of Trenton, KY passed away Thursday December 7, 2017 4:00 p.m. at the Tennova Helathcare in Clarksville, TN of natural causes. Funeral Mass will be Wednesday December 13, 2017 11:00 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 7600 Russellville Rd, Guthrie, KY 42234 with Father Frank Ruff officiating. Burial will be Wednesday December 13, 2017 2:00 p.m. at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West in Hopkinsville, KY with full military honors. Rosary service will be from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. Tuesday and visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday both at Latham Funeral Home in Elkton, KY.
Mr. Kacer was born May 16, 1921 in Chicago, IL the son of the late Louis Kacer and Louise Pecarek Kacer. He was the Butcher/Owner/Operator of the Palo Verde Grocery Store and the U.S. Postmaster in Palo Verde, AZ. He was a gunner in the U.S. Navy in World War II. He was a member of the St. Mary and James Catholic Church of Guthrie, KY, VFW Post 1913 and Disabled American Veterans Chapter 8 both in Hopkinsville, KY. Also Postmasters Association. He is preceded in death besides his parents his son Thomas Edward Kacer, his brother Rudy Kacer, his sisters Alice Pasek, Mildred Kacer and Rosemary Kacer his grandson Jarod Kacer.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years Dorothy B. Kacer of Trenton, KY, his son Richard Louis and his wife Cindy Kacer of Hopkinsville, KY, his daughter Carol Ann Kacer of El Mirage, AZ, his daughter in law Lucy Kacer of Buckeye, AZ. 8 Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family ask donations be made to St. Jude Childrens Hospital P. O. Box 1000, Dept. 142 Memphis, TN 38148-0142.
