Mr. Thomas Porter “Tommy” Harris Jr. age 84 of Allensville, KY passed away Thursday April 27, 2017 10:55 p.m. at Hearthstone Place in Elkton of natural causes. Services will be Sunday April 30, 2017 2:00 p.m. at Latham Funeral Home in Elkton, KY with Rev. Mark Keith and Rev. Joe Carter officiating. Burial will be in the Glenwood Cemetery in Elkton. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday April 29, 2017 at Latham Funeral Home in Elkton.
Mr. Harris was born in Allensville, KY February 26, 1933 the son of the late Thomas Porter Harris Sr. and Sarah Louise York Harris. He was retired from South Central Bell Telephone Co. Mr. Harris was a member of Elkton Baptist Church where he served as an usher, Guthrie Masonic Lodge, Shriner’s and Eastern Star. His wife Mary Lou Harris preceded in death as well as his son Thomas Edward “Eddie” Harris in 2008.
He is survived by his wife Suzanne “Sue” Branson Harris of Allensville, KY, his daughter Debbie Griffey Burgos and her husband Dave of Olmstead, KY, his step son Jeff Branson of Hopkinsville, KY, his sister Betty Robertson of Hopkinsville, KY 4 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren.
