Ruth Brumfield Shanklin

Mrs. Ruth Brumfield Shanklin age 90 of Hopkinsville, KY passed away Sunday October 24, 2021 1:00 p.m. at Hearhtstone Place in Elkton, KY. Services will be Wednesday October 27, 2021 2:00 p.m. at Latham Funeral Home in Elkton with Rev. Jeremy Hayes and Rev. Todd Latham. There will be a private burial at New Ebenezer Cemetery. There will be a meal and visitation with the family from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Britmart Baptist Church.
Mrs. Shanklin was born in Todd County September 19, 1931. She was secretary of carpenters union in Hopkinsville, Ky and worked at Thomas Industries. She was a member of Britmart Baptist Church for 65 years. She is preceded in death by her husband Clarence Edward Shanklin, her parents Thomas Otho Brumfield and Hattie Ethyl Boatwright Brumfield, her brothers Chester Ford Brumfield, Howard Brumfield and her sisters Sylvia Oneta Adams and Margie Jane Combs.
She is survived by her son Gary Edward Shanklin and his wife Bon of Pleasant View, Tn, her daughter Karen Raye Hayes-Ritchie and her husband George of Hopkinsville, KY, and her sister Betty Latham of Elkton, KY.
