Ruth Olivia Sawyers

Mrs. Ruth Olivia Sawyers, age 72 of Elkton, passed away 5:14 PM, Saturday, April 24, 2021 at Jennie Stuart Medical Center ER in Hopkinsville, KY of natural causes. Services will be Wednesday April 28, 2021 2:00 p.m. at the West Side Church of Christ with Mr. Doug Gregory and Mr. Brian Stone officiating. Burial will follow in the Glenwood Cemetery in Elkton. Visitation will be Tuesday April 27, 2021 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the church. Latham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Sawyers was born in Guthrie, KY June 11, 1948 the daughter of the late Cecil Canon and Lillie Johnson Cannon. She was a member of West Side Church of Christ and was retired from Southern States after 37 years of service. Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her brothers William Cecil Cannon and Tommy Cannon.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years Bill Sawyers of Elkton, her sons Gary Sawyers and his wife Dana, of Guthrie, KY and Terry Sawyers and his wife Alice of Elkton, KY, her daughter Tammy Sharp and her husband Mark of Elkton, KY, her brothers Charlie Cannon of Clarksville, TN and Larry Cannon of Paso Robles, CA, her grandchildren Will Sharp, Halie Sawyers, Katie Sawyers, Addye Sawyers, Lily Sharp, Robert Sawyers, and Cole Sawyers.
