Mr. Richard B. Young Jr., age 94 of Allensville, passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at Signature Healthcare in Clarksville, TN of natural causes. As per Mr. Richard’s request a cremation service has been chosen with no public services.
Mr. Richard was born March 30, 1923 in Logan Co., KY the son of the late Richard Browder Young Sr. and Annie Riley Young. He was a farmer and retired from the U.S. Postal Service where he served as Allensville Post Master for 22 Years. He was a World War II Veteran having served in the U.S. Army 8th Air Force. Mr. Richard graduated from Andrew Jackson Business College in Nashville, TN and was a member of the Allensville United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and also by his wife, Jessie Nell Young in 2014 and his son, Rev. John R. Young in 2013.
Survivors include his Son, David G. Young and his wife Stacey of Allensville, KY and three grandchildren, Laura Susan Young, Melanie Ann Young Blake and her husband Steven and Thomas Jesse Young.
In lieu of flowers Mr. Richard requested donations be made to Gideon’s International, Todd Co. Camp, P.O. Box 4, Elkton, KY 42220 or The KY United Methodist Home For Children and Youth, P.O. Box 749, Versailles, KY 40383.
