Mrs. Lois Farmer, age 93 of Elkton, passed away 12:45 AM, Thursday, February 06, 2020 at Christian Health Center in Hopkinsville, KY of natural causes. Services will be Saturday February 8, 2020 1:00 p.m. at Latham Funeral Home in Elkton, KY with Rev. Ron Henn officiating. Burial will follow in Craig Farmer Family Cemetery in Springville, TN. Visitation will be Saturday February 8, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour of 1:00 p.m. at Latham Funeral Home.
Mrs. Farmer was born February 5, 1927 in Lyon County, KY. She was retired from Hopkinsville Community College and was the former owner-operator of the Sugar Shack Restaurant in Elkton. She was a member of Providence United Methodist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents James Orr and Nellie Mae Downing Orr, her husband Charles Avery “Dugan” Farmer in 1966, her grandson Jeffrey Wayne Farmer and her sister Stella Orr Delaney.
She is survived by her sons Wayne Farmer and his wife Carolyn of Elkton, KY, Charles Lee Farmer and his wife Joyce of Warner Robins, GA, and Edward Farmer and his wife Debbie of Hopkinsville, KY, her daughter Carolyn Ruth Moore of Crossville, TN, her sister Genetta Watson and her husband Bobby of Clarksville, TN, 5 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandchild.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be given to Providence United Methodist Church in care of Carolyn Farmer, 1035 Hadden Mill Road, Elkton, KY 42220.
