Marlene Herrell

Mrs. Marlene Herrell, age 80 of Elkton, passed away at 4:30 a.m., Sunday, November 19, 2023 at Jennie Stuart Medical Center in Hopkinsville. Services will be Wednesday November 22, 2023 2:00 p.m. at Latham Funeral Home with Mr. Brent Spurlin officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Claymor, KY. Visitation will be Tuesday November 21, 2023 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at 2:00 p.m. at Latham Funeral Home. Services will be live streamed at lathamfuneralhome.com.
Mrs. Herrell was born April 8, 1943 in Elkton, KY. She was the Circulation Clerk at Todd County Library for many years. She was a member of Petrie Memorial Methodist Church for over 60 years. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society. Mrs. Herrell loved to crochet, paint, and read. She had a special place in her heart for her kids and grandkids. She is preceded in death by her husband Jerry Dean Herrell in 2001, her parents Dellis Key (D.K.) Hurt and Mary Katherine Hurt, her brother Arlo Hurt, and her sister Barbara Rager.
She is survived by her son Paul Herrell and his wife Laura of Hopkinsville, KY, and her daughter Marla Gillespie of Elkton, KY, her grandchildren Sarah Herrell, Katie Herrell, Josh Gillespie, and Jake Gillespie.
The family asks that any donations be give to the Hearts and Hammers of Petrie Memorial Methodist Church or the Christian County Animal Shelter.
