Joseph Edward Slack

Mr. Joseph Edward “Ed” Slack, age 68 of Guthrie, passed away 9:00 PM, Thursday, September 17, 2020 at his residence of natural causes. The family has chosen cremation service with visitation from 10:00 a.m. to 12 noon Tuesday September 22, 2020 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Guthrie, KY with a private service Father Frank Ruff and Father Al Bremmer officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland Cemetery in Guthrie, KY.
Mr. Slack was born in Springfield, TN September 10, 1952 the son of the late Joseph Reburn Slack and Julia Catherine Rowley Slack. He was retired Vice President of Elkton Bank & Trust Guthrie Branch, he graduated from University of Kentucky in 1974 with a Bachelors Degree. Mr. Slack was a member of the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, and a member of the Board of Directors of Todd County Water District.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years Dorothy Slack of Guthrie, his son Brent Slack and his wife Victoria of Guthrie, KY, his daughters Mary Margaret Slack of Guthrie, KY and Tamara Slack of Clarksville, TN, his brothers Tom Slack and his wife Sarah of Guthrie, KY and Glenn Slack of Lake Malone, KY, his sisters Jane Martin and her husband Keith of Clarksville, TN and Carol McDowell and her husband David of Charleston, MO, and 5 Grandchildren.
