Mr. Joe W. Garrett age 81 of Elkton, KY passed way Thursday December 20, 2018 2:31 a.m. at his residence of natural causes. Services will be Saturday December 22, 2018 12:00 Noon at Latham Funeral Home in Elkton, KY with Rev. Don Garrett and Rev. David Garrett officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenhill Memorial Garden in Hopkinsville, KY. Visitation will be Friday December 21, 2018 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Latham Funeral Home.
Mr. Garrett was born August 15, 1937 in Muhlenberg County, KY. He was a Timber Buyer and owner of Garrett Saw Mill, a member of the Elkton Nazarene Church where he had served as Sunday School Superintendent and member of the church board. He is preceded in death by his parents William Garrett and Ruby Tooley Garrett, his son Tom Garrett Sr. 2013, his daughter Linda Darlene Monroe in 2013.
He is survived by his wife of 61 Years, Wanda Ford Garrett of Elkton, KY his sons Billy Joe and his wife Christy Garrett of Elkton, KY, Don and his wife Delana Garrett of Elkton, KY, and David and his wife Julia Garrett of Corydon, IN, his son-in-law Mark Monroe of Elkton, KY, his brothers Verman Garrett of Greenville, KY, Robert Garrett of Dunmor, KY, and Paul Garrett of Madisonville, KY, his sisters Wilma Dunlop of Mississippi, and Ruby Jane Bibee of Shepherdsville, KY, 15 Grandchildren, 20 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandchild.
