John Junior Shumate

Mr. John “Junior” Shumate, age 98 of Elkton, passed away 5:41 AM, Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at Creekwood Nursing and Rehab in Russellville, KY of natural causes. The family has chosen a private service with burial in the Todd County Meadow Haven.
Mr. Shumate was born Augsut 28, 1922 the son of the late John Frances Shumate and Beulah Harris Shumate. He was a retired truck driver for Thomas Industries in Hopkinsvlle, KY. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Besides his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth Ann Camp Shumate in 2010.
He is survived by his son Johnny Shumate and his wife Jami of Goodlettsville, TN and his daughter Donna Pickerill and her husband Bob of Hopkinsville, KY, 3 grandchildren Shane Pickerill and his wife Leann, Carrie Stallons and her husband Tyler, and Jordan Shumate and 4 great grandchildren Allie and Logan Pickerill and Cohen and Caroline Stallons.
