Mr. James King “Jimmy” Simpson Sr. age 72 of the Daysville Community in Todd County passed away suddenly of an apparent heart attack at 6:15 a.m. Monday, October 22, 2018 on the family farm while deer hunting. Services will be Thursday October 25, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Latham Funeral Home in Elkton, KY with Rev. Mark Keith officiating. Burial will follow in Lee Family Cemetery in Daysville, KY. Visitation will be Wednesday October 24, 2018 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Latham Funeral Home.
Mr. Simpson was born in Elkton, KY October 7, 1946 son of the late Lewis Simmons Simpson and Edna Mae Simpson. He had been employed as a mechanic for Elkton Apparel and later at Flynn Enterprises, and later retired from Western State Hospital in the Maintenance Department. He loved spending time with his son and grandson and was an avid Bowhunter, Hilltopper Fan and he loved to go to Cruise In’s in his 1968 Roadrunner which he bought new. He attended Elkton Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years Patricia Lee Simpson of Daysville, KY, his son King Simpson and his wife Taylor of Daysville, KY, his grandson Ian King Simpson his brother in law Paul B. Lee of Oakland, KY.
