Coach James L. “Jim” Oller, age 76 of Elkton, passed away 12:11 AM, Thursday, July 07, 2022 at his residence. Services will be Monday July 11. 2022 11:00 a.m. at Latham Funeral Home in Elkton, KY with Rev. Willard Knipp officiating. Visitation will be Sunday July 10, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Latham Funeral Home. Services will be live-streamed at lathamfuneralhome.com.
Coach Oller was born in Leitchfield, KY March 15, 1946. He was retired from the Todd County School System where he had taught at Elkton Elementary and North Todd Elementary and coached at both Elkton Elementary and Todd County Central High School. He was a 1964 graduate of Bowling Green High School and received his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees from Western Kentucky University. He was an all-star baseball player at the little league, high school, and college levels. He was a member of Petrie Memorial United Methodist Church where he had served on the church council and various other committees. He enjoyed being a mentor to the youth confirmation classes. He was also a member of the Todd County Gun Club. Coach Oller loved to trade and go to flea markets. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur Burton Oller and Harvey Imogene Lindsey Oller.
He is survived by his wife Peggy Cornett Oller of Elkton, his son James Ryan Oller of Bowling Green, KY his daughter Wendy Leigh Oliver and her husband Boogie of Allensville, KY, his brothers David Patrick Oller of Bowling Green, KY and Thomas Wilbur Oller of Leitchfield, KY, his grandchildren Emily Rose Oliver and Nora James Oller.
