Helen Smith Herndon

Helen Smith Herndon, 91, passed away on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at home in Chattanooga, TN surrounded by her family.
Helen was born in 1931 in Clarksville, TN she married the late Mitchell Smith in 1947 they were married for over 50 years until his passing in March of 1998, Mitchell was pastor of Northside Baptist Church in Elkton, KY. Several years after Mitchell’s passing Helen married John Herndon of Cadiz, Ky and until his passing in January of 2021.
Helen is survived by her children: Judy Adkins and Terry of Dearborn Heights, MI, Roger Dale Smith of Chattanooga, TN and Kerry Smith and Anita of Chattanooga, TN. Sister Linda Digman of Fort Myers, Fl. and brother Ralph Suiter of Florida. Step Children: John(Connie)Herndon, Steve Herndon, Debbie(Monte)Birdsong and Teresa(Kevin)Neal; Several loving grandchildren and great grandchildren and extended family.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, April 30, 2022, at Latham Funeral Home 413 E. Main Street in Elkton, Ky. With Dr. Kerry Smith, Bro. Terry Adkins and Pastor Chris Page officiating. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery in Elkton.
Visitation will be Saturday from 11:00am until hour of service at 2:00pm at the Latham Funeral Home in Elkton, Ky.
