Glendal Darrel Groves

Mr. Glendal Darrel Groves age 81 of Hopkinsville and formerly of Elkton, passed away 3:58 AM Saturday, April 27, 2019 at Jennie Stuart Medical Center in Hopkinsville of natural causes. Services for Mr. Glendal will be 1:00 PM Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at Latham Funeral Home with Rev. Darrell Crawford officiating. Burial will follow in the Edgewood Cemetery in Trenton, KY. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 pm Tuesday at Latham Funeral Home.
Mr. Glendal was born October 24, 1937 in Muhlenburg Co., KY the son of the late, Clifton and Estelle Slaughter Groves. He was retired agent for Lincoln and American General Life Insurance and had also been a driver for PACS. He had served in the US Army Reserves, was a member of Living Hope Baptist Church in Hopkinsville, Masons, JayCees and was a 50 year member of Gideons. He was preceded in death by his brother Bobby Groves.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Sandra Groves of Hopkinsville, his sons, Barry Groves and his wife, Leigh (Ware) of Trenton, Darrel Groves of Trenton and Mark Groves of Hopkinsville, his sisters, Geraldine Carter of Guthrie, Linda Faye Smith of Allegre, Nancy Simons of Clifty and Phyllis Wilburn of Mt. Pleasant, NC,5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
