Mr. George “Pop” Russell, age 74 of Lewisburg,KY passed away 5:15 AM Wednesday, January 3, 2017 at Jennie Stuart Medical Center in Hopkinsville of natural causes. Services for Mr. George will be 11:00 AM Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Latham Funeral Home with Rev. Nelson Bodes officiating. Burial will follow in the Tabernacle Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM Saturday until the time for the funeral at Latham Funeral Home.
Mr. George was born October 23, 1943 in Fairview, KY the son of the late Robert Russell and Liza Jones Russell. He was a farmer and had been employed by Todd County at Convience Dumpster in Trenton. He was a member of Yates Chapel Community Church in Hardin County, KY. Besides his parents he is preceded in death by one son Joseph Russell, his brothers Cotton Russell, and Charlie Russell, his sisters Rosie Henderson and Sudie Weatherford.
Survivors include his sons Adam Russell and his wife Susan of Lewisburg and William Russell and his wife Linda of Caldwell County, KY, his daughters Linda Russell of Hopkinsville, KY, Loretta Taylor of Caldwell County, KY, and Molly Banaszak her husband Mike of Fort Hood, TX, his brother Dock Russell of Guthrie, KY. 13 Grandchildren and 15 Great Grandchildren.
