Eurie Hayes Smith III

Mr. Eurie Hayes Smith III age 85 of Elkton, KY passed away Thursday February 17, 2022 4:00 a.m. at Tennova Health Care in Clarksville, TN. The family has chosen cremation with a private service at a later date. Latham Funeral Home in Elkton, KY is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Smith was born in Paducah, KY October 19, 1936. He was a lawyer, farmer and Presbyterian Minister. He graduated from University of Louisville with a Mechanical Engineering Degree as well as a law degree, he also graduated from Presbyterian Theological Seminary in Adron, VA and the Princeton Presbyterian Theological Seminary with a Masters Degree in Divinity. Mr. Smith was a Mason, Christian Smith Society Member, Kentucky Bar Association and practiced for the Supreme Court. He attended Bells Chapel United Methodist Church, and was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. He is preceded in death by his parents Eurie Hayes Smith II and Genevieve Ross Smith.
He is survived by his wife Vertner Smith of Elkton, KY, his son Eurie Hayes Smith IV of Louisville, KY, his step son Larry Marsalis of Calera, AL, his daughter Sara Smith of New York, his brothers William Hayden Smith of St.Louis, MO and Gary Smith of Litchfield, KY, his sisters Ann Ross Fox of Austin, TX and Kay Biscopink of Columbia, SC, 3 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
