Elista Addison Bock, 75, of Elkton, passed away on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 in her home after a long-term illness. Elista was a native of Todd County, Kentucky. She lived in Fairmont, West Virginia for thirty-three years before returning home to Elkton. Elista was born on July 2, 1942 and was the third of ten children born to Gaither and Beulah Hightower Addison. She was a graduate of Todd County High School and was a member of the class of 1960. Elista married Robert Eugene Bock on November 3, 1961. She worked a variety of jobs throughout her life, but retired as a custodial engineer with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was also a devout member of the LDS church. She spent many years as the church librarian in the wards she attended. Elista loved to fish, watch UK Basketball, and play cards at the Todd County Senior Citizen Center, but loved spending time with her family most of all.
Elista is survived by her husband, Robert, of 56 years. Survivors also include her sons, Edward Bock (Mayumi) of Bowling Green, Kentucky, Ronald Bock of Central City, Kentucky, and Robert "Bud" Bock of Elkton, Kentucky; daughters, Donna Herdman (Jerry) of Fairmont, West Virginia, Janet Hager (Gerald) of Eleanor, West Virginia, and Susan Yonts (Lynn) of Trenton, Kentucky. She is also survived by her brothers, Paul Addison and George "Bo" Addison, both of Elkton, Kentucky, Joseph Addison of Louisville, Kentucky; and Peggy Sue Griggs of Elkton, Kentucky. In addition to her children and siblings, Elista is survived by seven grandchildren; Thomas Larimore II (Melissa) of Hopkinsville, Kentucky, Matthew Larimore (Ashley) of Whiteman AFB, MO, Emily Bock of Eleanor, West Virginia, Gabriel Cunningham, of Eleanor, WV, Christopher Yonts of Trenton, Kentucky, Tyler Yonts of Trenton, Kentucky, and Jasmine Bock of Bowling Green, Kentucky. She is also survived by nine great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by three brothers, William, Gaither David, and Johnny Addison, and two sisters, Joyce Johnson and Mary Wandler.
Visitation will be held at Latham Funeral Home, 413 East Main Street, Elkton, Kentucky, on Friday, March 9, 2018 from 5:00- 8:00 p.m. The funeral will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 10, 2018, also at Latham Funeral Home with Bishop Gary Sawyers officiating, Alvin Frogue, speaker, and eulogy delivered by Edward Bock. Interment will follow at the Stokes Chapel Cemetery in Elkton, Kentucky.
