Mrs. Donna Catherine Appel, age 96 of Elkton, passed away 5:45 PM, Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at Bradford Heights Healthcare in Hopkinsville, KY. Services for Mrs. Donna will be 6:30 PM, Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at Latham Funeral Home. Services will be live-streamed at lathamfuneralhome.com. Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 to 6:30 Wednesday at Latham Funeral Home. Following the services the family has chosen a cremation service with burial to follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Jackson, Ohio.
Mrs. Donna was born December 13, 1925 in Downey, California. She was retired as a LPN from Riverview Manor in Portsmouth, Ohio. Most recently she had provided transportation for the Mennonite Community. She had attended St. Susan’s Catholic Church in Elkton until her health worsened. She was preceded in death by her parents, George Albert and Lucy Barnes Berry; her husband, Carl Leeroy Appel, her son, Andrew Lee Appel, her brothers, George, Dennis, David, Hugh and Tommy Berry; and her sister, Lucille Schroder.
Survivors include her sons, Carl Brian Appel of Oregon and Dennis George Appel of Kennebunk, Maine; her daughters, Catherine Jacques of Carpinteria, California and Janet Luise Latham of Elkton; her brother, Donald Robert Berry of Arizona; her sister, Janet Barnes Berry of California; 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
