Samuel Dennis Turner Sr

Mr. Samuel Dennis “Sammy” Turner Sr., age 75 of Elkton, passed away 7:05 a.m., Sunday, March 10, 2024 at his residence. There will be a memorial service Thursday March 14, 2024 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Dan Huck officiating at Hopkinsville First United Methodist Church, 1305 South Main St. Hopkinsville, KY. There will be a masonic service prior to the memorial service. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at 11:00 a.m. all services are at the church.
Mr. Turner was born February 17, 1949 in Brazil, IN. He had been the Golf Course Superintendent for Cherry Grove Golf Course in Trenton, KY. He was a member of Hopkinsville First United Methodist Church in Hopkinsville, KY. Mr. Turner was a member of the Guthrie-Trenton Vesper Masonic Lodge #190 in Guthrie, KY. He loved to fish, golf, raise a garden and help the group of people who build the handicap ramps for others. He was preceded in death by his parents William Rogers “Rube” Turner and Emma Jean Diel Turner, his daughter Katherine Denise Turner.
He is survived by his wife Paula Wright Turner of Elkton, KY, son Samuel Dennis Turner Jr of Bon Aqua, TN, daughters Lisa Diane Turner Embry and her husband Brian of Grand Junction, CO, Keri Turner of Chattanooga, TN, and Laura Young of Williamsport, PA, brothers James Rogers Turner and his wife Linda of Plano, TX, Billy Ray Turner and his wife Linda of Trenton, KY and Gifford Wade Turner and his wife Teresa of Eddyville, KY, sisters Alberta Ann Washer and her husband Gene of Clarksville, TN, and Betty Smith and her husband Kerry of Palmyra, TN, uncle D. T. (Dilly) Turner and his wife Mary of Elkton KY, 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren.
