Mr. Robert “Bob” Sholar age 52 of the Bells Chapel Community passed away at 7:00 p.m. as a result of a farm accident. Services will be Friday July 14, 2017 11:00 a.m. at Latham Funeral Home in Elkton, KY with Rev. Larry King and Rev. Will Campbell, Mr. Terry Martin and Mr. Billy Bingham officiating. Burial will follow in the Bells Chapel Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday July 13, 2017 at Latham Funeral Home and from 10:00 a.m. Friday until time for the service.
Bob was born January 22, 1965 in Hopkinsville, KY. He was a farmer, served on the Board of Directors of United Southern Bank, and attended Bells Chapel United Methodist Church. He was a 1983 graduate of Todd County Central High School and Nashville Auto Diesel College.
Bob is survived by his Step-Father Louis Buckley and his Mother Dorothy “Sissy” Buckley of the Bells Chapel Community, his wife Connie Mercer Sholar of the Bells Chapel Community, his son Augustus Hayes “Gus” Sholar of the Bells Chapel Community, his daughter Mary Kathryn Sholar of the Bells Chapel Community, his Step-Sons Brad Gardner of South Carollton, KY and Seth Allen of Lewisburg, KY, his Brother Patrick Allen Sholar of the Bells Chapel Community, his sister Ann Hampton (Will Allen) Osborn of the Bells Chapel Community, three Step-Grandchildren Jude Gardner, Layla Gardner and Ava Allen.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be given to Bells Chapel Church Building Fund, C/O Ann Osborn, 4400 Tress Shop Road, Trenton, KY 42286.
