Mr. Richard Alvin Craig, age 69, of Allegre, KY passed away Thursday May 25, 2017 12:01 p.m at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, KY of natural causes. Services will be Sunday May 28, 2017 2:00 p.m. at Bellview Baptist Church in Allegre, KY with the Rev. Rodney Skipworth officiating. Burial will follow in Ebenezer Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday May 27, 2017 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the church and on Sunday May 28, 2017 at the church after 1:00 p.m. Latham Funeral Home of Elkton, KY is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Craig was born June 26, 1947 in Elkton, KY the son of Clara Pauline “Polly” Utley Craig and the late J.R. Craig. He was the Owner/Operator of Craig’s Barber Shop for 50 years, and also was a cattle and tobacco farmer. Mr. Craig was a member of Bellview Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and taught Sunday School over 50 years, a member of the Gideons International Todd County Camp and a graduate of Henderson Barber College, he also sang with the Messenger Gospel Quartet and the Craig Family Quartet. He had served in the U.S. Army Reserves, he had also served as committee member of the Todd County Fish and Game Club. He is preceded in death by his brother Larry Craig.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years Mary Ann Martin Craig of Allegre, KY, his Mother Clara Pauline “Polly” Craig of Allegre, KY, his sons Ryan Martin Craig and his wife Jenni of Russellville, KY, Lyle William Craig and Casey Allen Craig and his wife Beth all of Allegre, KY, his brothers Mike Craig of Bowling Green, KY and Tommy Craig of Russellville, KY his sister Jeannie Craig Grace of Belton, KY, 9 Grandchildren- Hunter, Payton, Ainsley, Owen, Ava, John, Abby, Summer and Sparrow Craig; 1 Great Grandchild, Arabella Craig.
