Mrs. Melvia Dean Sears, age 76 of Clifty, passed away 7:15 A.M., Saturday, July 15, 2017 at Owensboro Health (Muhlenberg Community Hospital) in Greenville, KY of natural causes. Funeral services for Mrs. Sears will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at Latham Funeral Home with Rev. Kerry Vincent officiating. Burial will follow in the Stokes Chapel Cemetery. Visitation for Mrs. Sears will be from 5 to 8 P.M. Monday at Latham Funeral Home.
Mrs. Sears was born October 23, 1940 in Todd Co., KY the daughter of the late Earl and Effie Bell Stokes Hightower. She was retired from Muhlenberg Community Hospital and was a member of the Elkton Road Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Don Hightower, James Allen Hightower and Arthur Hightower and her grandson, Matthew Ryan.
Mrs. Sears is survived by her husband, Wendell Sears of Clifty; her daughters, Kimberly Ingram of Lewisburg and Danita Hilburn and her husband Troy of Clifty; her brothers, Jerry Hightower of Pembroke and Anthony Hightower of Guthrie; her grandchildren, Jennifer, Jessica, Tori and Megan; her great grandchildren, Gabbi, Izzy and Luke.
