Mrs. Charlene Bonita Roe age 74 of Hopkinsville, KY formerly of Allegre, KY passed away Saturday September 30, 2017 1:44 p.m. at her residence of natural causes. Services will be Wednesday October 4, 2017 10:00 a.m. at Latham Funeral Home in Elkton, KY with Rev. Eddie Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow in the Cedar Grove Cemetery in Todd County. Visitation will be on Tuesday October 3, 2017 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Latham Funeral Home.
Mrs. Roe was born in Louisville, KY the daughter of the late Charles Nation and Floya Cook Shemwell. She was retired from Elkton Die Casting and TGASK. Mrs. Roe was a member of Mt. Vernon General Baptist Church. Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her husband James Ray Roe in 1999 and her step father Marvin Shemwell.
She is survived by her daughter Carole (Steve) Keel of Hopkinsville, KY her brothers Todd and Robert Nation of Taylorsville, KY, her sisters Janie Anderson, Elkton, KY, Patricia VanMeter, Rita Burgin, and Brenda Sue Hatzman all of Taylorsville, KY, Shirley Thompson of Indianapolis, IN and Jeanette Cinadr of Cleveland, OH. 3 Grandchildren Mary Sholar, Augustus (Gus) Sholar and Kaley Keel.
